For this work, a printout of the binary code of an audio recording of Helmut Lachenmann's opera "Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern" was dissolved in the sulphuric acid. A video recording was made of the dissolution process, which is then projected onto the sculpture. The audio track of the installation is the recording of the opera itself filtered through four extremely narrow band-pass filters. The concentration of the gases produced during the chemical reaction was measured. The data generated in this way controls the parameters of the band-pass filters. The installation runs continuously in a back-and-forth loop.
